OIL TIGHT CHAIN CASINGS

Exclusion of foreign matter from the drive and its oil is easily achieved through selection of one of Litco's three types of Casings each designed to provide a different degree of tightness.

NOTE THE RUGGED SIMPLICITY OF DESIGN AND STRONG CONSTRUCTION OF LITCO CASINGS.

Three Types of Oil Tight Drive Casings

Type I Split Line - Oil Tight

  • Used for indoor application. This is the most economical casing LITCO offers.

  • The offset lip projects down inside the lower casing to prevent oil loss at the parting line.

  • Shaft Sealing consists of a floating block of .25" Vellumoid -- this wipes the oil from the shaft as it rotates.

  • Inspection door can be provided as an optional feature.

Type II Split Line - Oil/Rain Tight
  • Used in outdoor operations or where the plant machinery must be washed down with water.

  • The double offset lip, sealed at the parting line, provides a greater degree of protection against dust and water.

  • Shaft sealing consists of a floating block of .25" Vellumoid -- this wipes the oil from the shaft as it rotates.

  • Inspection door can be provided as an optional feature.

Type III Split Line - Oil and Dust Tight
  • Ultimate in lubricating and sealing efficiency.

  • Shaft sealing consists of a box type hat inside and outside, containing .25" Vellumoid seals.

  • The split line flanges are fabricated from steel angles for ultimate reinforcement and protection.

  • May be used with force feed lubrication system.

  • Inspection door can be provided as an optional feature.
